There was a tv show (1963-64) called The Best of Hootenanny. It showcased folksingers like Judy Collins and Ian & Sylvia, and somehow also involved Woody Allen. I just read about it in Entertainment Weekly, of all places. Anyone heard or know of this?

I just read an article that was in the post yesterday. It was a review of a recently released DVD set from the show.
Here's a link to it.
Pete Seeger and anybody too political was banned from the show.
I checked it out. doesn't seem worth a view.
I remember it. Lotsa Kingston Trio.
I watched it religiously. In retrospect it was pretty lame but you have to evaluate it in context. It was the first exposure to "folk music" that most people ever saw. The Weavers (including P. Seeger) had been black listed several years earlier. I think the actual name was simply "Hootnanny" but I can't vouch for that.
