Eastside Hoot

Seems Bud has worked his magic with The Waterfront Hotel in Fells Point http://www.waterfronthotel.us to rev up the Eastside Hoot. They plan to have it on alternating Sundays from the SoBoHoot. The first one will be this Sunday, Dec. 16 from 3 to 6. Show up with your ax!

Just a reminder, the SoBoHoot will next meet Dec. 23. There's a 4:15 Ravens game, so we'll probably have a 1 pm start. Watch this space for a more definite time.

Happy Thanksgiving

Looks like the consensus is that we will not meet on the next scheduled hoot date of 11/25 since a lot of folk will not be around. I look forward to seeing you all 12/9 at Hogan's around 2 pm. Ravens don't play til 8:15, so we can rock the afternoon away!

So show up somewhere at some time or other and we'll see you there.

Fool's Hoot

Yes, the next hoot is April Fool's Day! There's been talk about taking advantage of the nice weather (if we have it) and doing the inaugural Spring outdoor hoot. Weather permitting, we'll assemble round 2 at the "mansion" (the gazebo in Riverside Park), if it's crumby out, we'll be at Hogans. Post a comment if directions are needed.

Mixing Board Free to Good Home

For those of you who missed the last hoot, Robin announced that he'd like to get rid of his mixing board. All you have to do is pick it up! What a deal! Here's the details...

"I am giving this beast away FREE to a good home:
http://www.sweetwater.com/publications/sweetnotes/sn-summer96/SumSN_07.html

Needs a little bit of TLC on a few of the TRS inputs, but otherwise, she's a
fine beast.
It's the 24 channel variety, so you need a bit of space: dimensions are 37"
by 24" so it's a large "footprint".
Plus it's quite heavy....

Time for me to go digital I'm afraid, or "numerique" as they say in France.
Let your friends know if they are mixer-minded folk.......

Cheers,
Robin"

Next Hoot: Superbowl Sunday

I'm sure you guys talked about the upcoming hootenannys, but for some reason I feel like pointing out that our next hoot is on Superbowl Sunday.

Sorry I missed you all yesterday. Hope all were safe in the snow.

Friday, January 19, 2007

Next Hoot on Sunday, January 21. Time TBD.

I'm just posting this up here so it's at the top of the page. We'll post the time when we have it.

Saturday, January 13, 2007

Anyone heard of this?

There was a tv show (1963-64) called The Best of Hootenanny. It showcased folksingers like Judy Collins and Ian & Sylvia, and somehow also involved Woody Allen. I just read about it in Entertainment Weekly, of all places. Anyone heard or know of this?

Monday, January 8, 2007

How sweet it is!

Great to PLAY with you fine folks once again! Miss Wendy was really doing a bash and pop last night . . . ROCK!!!

Next Hoot Jan. 21

Last night was a gas! The stars must have been all lined up. There was loose talk of how we will celebrate our anniversary in Feb. Dave will have to give the date of that, but Wendy suggested a feast. Pot luck, anyone? Your thoughts and comments, please. If you'd like to do that, post what you would bring so we don't have 20 onion dips.

Next Hoot: January 7 at 2 at Hogan's Alley.

Here Is My Great Big Dumb Idea. Suck it.

Hi everyone.

I decided to start one of these bloggy things for the growing South Baltimore hootenanny crowd. We can post, rant, blah blah, blah blah blah whatever on this here site. It's getting to the point that I'm losing track of email addresses and our email strings are getting ten to the power of ten times too long. One of the fancy-ass scientists can do the math.

Not that I mind. I think we should be the biggest baddest hootenanny around, kicking all the other hootenanny's asses.

If you think this is a dumb idea, I don't want to hear it. I mean, come on! I just sprained my ankle and am getting divorced. Where's the love? Buy me beers! Love the blog!
